Decor Ideas & Inspiration
This design is majorly influenced by eastern cultures and is tied together with Art Déco accents that exude opulence.
Colours found in the feathers of the peacock bird (Indian Peafowl) are used as accent colours. Throughout the home, the wall colours are muted but different shades from the same family are used to create a calm and serene environment.
The kitchen is separated from the living and dining area by sliding glass doors. This helps in keeping the cooking smells contained in the kitchen and at the same time give an illusion of a larger living room. A walk-in pantry is adjoined to the kitchen which is separated by Shoji (Japanese style sliding doors).

Tip: While decorating a space with traditional influence(s), add small contemporary style furniture like side tables, storage units and lamps in your design. By doing so the space will not look outdated, else you might end up having a room that looks like a furniture store or a movie set from a particular era.
In case you are intentionally decorating a space according to a particular time period then you can ignore this tip!
As always, remember, there are no hard and fast rules, have fun decorating your home!
