This design is a modern interpretation of the Haussmannian interiors which are famous for 3 distinct features - Herringbone parquet floors, ornate moldings and ornate marble chimneys.

The ornamental patterns have been replaced by straight rectangular moldings for a modern look. The moldings are usually made using Plaster of Paris. The French double doors and the marble chimney with a large ornate mirror add to the Parisian charm of the apartment.

The furniture and lighting fixtures are in Scandinavian style which further enhance the modern look of the apartment.

Winters in Paris are usually cloudy, grey and gloomy, so earthy colours but in brighter tones of Burnt Sienna and Paris Green have been used as accent colours to uplift the mood. The accent colours have been paired with White and Pale Blue as base colours.

Living Area

Parisian Elements: wooden flooring, wall moldings, ornate mirror, marble chimney, French double doors

Tip: If you do not like a modern look then skip the Scandinavian furniture and pair the Parisian style with a rustic style - like Farmhouse, Bohemian, Casual (Nature based) etc. If you would like to give a rich and luxurious feel to your home then pair the Parisian style with Art Déco style!
